News of the New

We're halfway through 2019 and it's already been fairly busy. There are some things going on right now ...

News of the Present

I have recently finished re-releasing my novella "The Beast of Trash Island." The cover is all me … with an assist by the incomparable Theresa Hertling (her eye for fonts is just amazing).

But that was only the appetizer. There is other exciting news afoot!

Publisher Severed Press is finishing work on the imminent release of my science fiction novel "Objekt 221." It should be out this summer, though there is no set release date. They've been working hard behind the scenes to put together the interior of the book as well as a custom cover. I can't wait to see it!

Additionally, work is nearly finished on the third The Event short story collection. It has not been a secret that this collection is generally about "technology gone awry" and carries the official subtitle of "Precision Robotics." Many of the authors from previous collections are making a return appearance. My own offering is a longish (21,000 words) story called "Machine Reality." Can't wait to get it out there. The way things are progressing, Event 3 and O221 might be hitting Amazon at roughly the same time!

News of the Future

With those projects cleaned off the whiteboard, I can turn to two other projects that are in the "to-do" pile. Namely "Fallen Harbor" (a pirate revenge story with a huge sea monster element) and "Phoenix Hill" (an archaeological adventure story with globe-hopping and strong story elements centering on a super-ancient civilization). I'm not sure which to tackle first.

Also, likely, Event 4 will kick off this October. Only four short months away. Didn't we just finish the last one? ;-)

As always, send me a note if you have questions or want to chat about writing in general.

Keep reading. Keep writing.
